Moonlight Walk

SANCOB, (previously SAMREC) which is a marine bird rehabilitation centre at Cape Recife, organised a moonlight walk last night to see the sun set over the sea and the full moon rise. I was surprised at how many people turned up!
There was an opening address but there were so many people we couldn't hear a word.

It was a lovely walk along the beach towards the light house and back. Because it was in a crowd we felt quite safe walking along the beach at dusk but people spread out and walked at their own pace so we didn't feel crowded.
We passed beautiful seascapes and interesting people.
We got to the lighthouse at just about sunset.
After climbing a couple of sand dunes and admiring the sunset, we turn around and started the 2 km return journey.

The moon rose behind a strip of cloud so we didn't see it rise from the sea. Nevertheless quite soon we could see it in all its glory. Unfortunately it is extremely difficult to photograph the moon so these photos don't nearly do it justice.

Luckily we had brought a torch because it was dark when we finished our walk.
Altogether a lovely evening out.
