Road Trip Day 7 Peace and Quiet

School holidays started yesterday. Nevertheless here we are enjoying peace and quiet. There is no swimming pool:-good and bad. Yes, I can't go for a swim (come onnnnn! When did I last go for a swim?) but there is no noise of excited teenagers, no load music. This is a peaceful place. a river runs through it.

It is a small family run affair and has a farm flavour. Ducks waddle around wagging their tails expectantly.

There's even a turkey. Wonder if he's going to be part of the Christmas celebrations?

There are two farm dogs, Border Collies who are friendly without being a nuisance.

I suffer from back and neck problems and I usually do exercises at gym on a Thursday. To try to keep up the habit I bought a Pilates ball and a self-inflating mat. I merrily thought the bicycle pump would blow up the ball easily but it has no valve and the best we could do was one person hold the pump outlet flush with the ball's mouth while the other pumped like crazy. After we were both exhausted, the best we got was

Tomorrow we'll take it to a garage.

This afternoon we went canoeing on the river.

Tomorrow we are off again. Not sure where yet.
